I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I work with adolescents and adults, providing individual, couple and family counseling. I am currently a Doctoral Candidate at Oakland University, completing my dissertation for a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision.
In my work with clients, I utilize an eclectic, integrative style of practice incorporating key elements of psychodynamic, person-centered, cognitive behavioral, narrative, and solution-focused therapies. Additionally, I am a trained practitioner of Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).
I have extensive experience helping peoplewith issues that include anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, trauma, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, women’s issues, men’s issues, life transitions, and living with chronic illness. I have advanced training and experience working with clients who present with substance use disorders and behavioral addictions.
In addition to working in private practice, I am a Clinical Supervisor for students in the Master of Arts Counseling Program at Oakland University. I provide clinical supervision for Limited Licensed Professional Counselors working towards full licensure. I also enjoy serving as a preceptor in the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine helping first year medical students to develop effective patient communication and relationship-building skills.
